Tali Yalonetzki

Tali Yalonetzki

Not every day do we get to meet a woman, artist, and mother like Tali Yalonetzki. When looking at her paintings, which prints of many of them can be found at both our physical and online stores, it’s clear that this is a woman with a sharp and sensitive eye, who has her own signature style. But only by having a conversation do we discover her drive, her passion and hunger for painting, and her massive heart that allows her to find inspiration even in the smallest and most mundane things.

Tali started drawing and painting when she was a kid and has simply never stopped. With a creative mother who had good hands and an older sister who’s a sculptor – ceramist, art evidently runs in her blood. Tali attended an arts high school where she experimented with different techniques and creative outlets. Her talent started to really shine and her passion for painting grew. When it was time to enlist in the army Tali was determined to keep painting during her service, and thanks to her talent and persuasiveness she managed to do just that.

After the army Tali started her undergraduate studies at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in the visual communication department, specializing in kids’ books illustration. In 2008 while Tali was in her 3rd year, a friend recommended she look into a then small and unknown online store called Etsy. In no time she opened up her Etsy shop, started painting non-stop and developed her own process – painting from pictures. She finds old photos, videos, or takes photos and then paints them in a realistic and unique way. Through her work she gives life to a fleeting moment and connects it to the present.  Her success came fast and hasn’t stopped – at first mostly from abroad and with time in Israel as well. Tali sees Etsy as a scholarship given by the universe, allowing her to remain creative and independent while venturing into other realms.

A few years ago Tali became a mother, something she’s wanted and waited for.  As she does with everything else in her life, Tali wanted to give her kids 100% of her time and energy and decided to stop creating new work. For someone who constantly finds inspiration in the world around them and art is part of their DNA, making the decision not to paint wasn’t easy. But she knew it was the right one for her and that she’d find her way back to art.

Something that’s very strong in Tali is her unwavering commitment to herself and her path, without comparing her work to others. She’s always been ambitious and believed in herself, and her work comes from a deep and sincere love of art.  When she was young and realized she wanted to be an artist, Tali’s father told her something that really struck a chord and stuck with her – it all depends on you, if you can prove to be successful and make a living you can do anything you wish to. Her father’s words lit a fire within her that hasn’t died down, and motivated her to go after her dreams with all her might.  With everything that she’s done and continues to do, she takes nothing for granted.  Tali is a woman full of gratitude and we are full of gratitude for Tali – for who she is, the inspiration she gives us, and her art that touches so many people.
